HDMI (ver. 1.3a) x.v.Color/Deep Color Processing

This unit features an HDMI (ver. 1.3a) output with x.v.Color/Deep Color processing, capable of reproducing exceptionally rich, vibrant colors, with smooth, detailed gradation and color banding. HDMI technology enables the player to carry the HD audio and video information through a single cable and achieving the highest quality picture and clearest sound available.

VIERA CAST and BD-Live Compatibility

This exquisite player enables full interactive access to down-loadable video content, ringtones, and games. BD-Live offers the ability to easily access (during live playback) additional Blu-ray content such as special subtitles, director's commentary, and movie trailers. With VIERA CAST you can access a selection of Internet services such as YouTube, Picasa Web Album, etc., from the Home screen. Both require a broadband Internet connection.

Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD

If you have a 7.1-channel home theater receiver - you're in luck - this player is capable of decoding Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD audio through the HDMI bitstream output. Dolby Digital Plus uses less compression than regular Dolby Digital to reproduce fuller and more dynamic sound effects with up to eight discrete channels of surround sound.  

Full 1080/24p Cinema Output

Since most Hollywood Blockbuster movies are acquisitioned at 24fps, and Blu-ray disc movies are mastered at the same rate, this player offers a 1080/24p video output that offers a true film-like experience in the privacy of your own home.

SD Memory Card Slot

Enjoy the convenience of viewing your favorite photos in HD with the built-in SD memory card slot.

AVC-HD and MPEG-2 Compatibility

It offers the ability to play back your HD camcorder AVC-HD and MPEG-2 files in full HD resolution. AVC-HD discs encoded with x.v.Color (xvYCC) technology, an international standard for wide color space. It expands the current data range of video by about 1.8 times, resulting in more natural and vivid colors similar to what the human eye can actually see.  
 

Progressive Scan with 3:2 Pull-Down

This is a progressive scan DVD player, capable of scanning an entire video frame at once; scan-lines commonly associated with interlaced video are drastically reduced. The result is a spectacularly clear image with no motion artifacts (stair-stepping), and details so sharp they seem as if they're etched onto the screen.

BonusView with Picture-in-Picture (PIP)

This interactive player offers the ability to easily access (during live playback) additional Blu-ray content. Some BD-Video incorporates the PIP function in pre-selected scenes; BonusView enables you to display the secondary video source over the primary video.

DivX Playback

DivX is video compression software, which enables high quality video to be compressed into very small files then downloaded onto CD-R or CD-RW and played back with very little loss of quality.

Analog A/V Input/Output

Plug in your VCR to the A/V inputs, hit play, and enjoy the ability to view the content on the player - or with a flip of a switch use the A/V output to connect the player to your home theater receiver and TV display, to enjoy your favorite DVDs or CDs.
